Danice Payne

Danice Payne, 75, of Jordan Valley, OR, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at a Caldwell hospital. Danice was born June 7, 1942 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Dale and Edith Brown. The first part of her life they lived on the Bittner Ranch in Nevada, close to Cedarville, California. In 1948 they moved to Rome, Oregon. There she started first grade in a one room school house, her being the only student in her class until the seventh grade. She graduated from the 8th grade at Rome and went on to graduate out of the Jordan Valley High School in 1960.
In 1962 she married a local ranch boy “Pat Payne” and they lived on the ranch in Jordan Valley. They were blessed with two children: Gary and Terry. She worked hard for many hours in the hayfield, on horseback, irrigating and cooking for many people over the years. She had Jesus in her heart and attended the Church of the Rock in Jordan Valley. In later years Pat & Danice had the opportunity to travel to the NFR in Las Vegas several times. She enjoyed sewing and ATV 4 wheeling. Her greatest joy was her Children, Grandkids and Great-grandkids she loved them all very much.
Danice is preceded in death by her parents, Mother and Father-In-Law, Tex and Agnes Payne.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Pat Payne; daughter, Terry (Jerry) White of J.V. and Son, Gary Payne of J.V.; brother, LeRoy (Linda) Brown, of J. V.; sister, Patty (Terry) Ackerman, of Ontario; sister, Lois Murray of Nampa, a brother-in-law Ted Payne of J.V., six grandchildren: J.T. White, Michael White, Jessica Greene, Chelicy Payne, Shelly Cline and Rory Davis and 3 great-grandchildren with another one due in May. Danice’s viewing will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 PM. at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM. at the Jordan Valley, OR Lion’s Den Hall. Interment will follow at Jordan Valley Cemetery,. Harley Wayne Lammers
Feb. 29, 1936 – Jan. 14, 2018
Harley Wayne Lammers was born in Ovid, Colorado, on Feb. 29, 1936, to Harley John and Martha (Lee) Lammers. He entered into rest Jan. 14, 2018, in Ontario, Oregon.
Wayne left Colorado with his family when he was very young. They lived briefly in Boise before settling in Little Valley, Oregon. He helped his parents carve a productive ranch out of sagebrush. Along the way, he acquired a lifelong love of farming, and he was a good farmer. Wayne was very proud to be able to pass the ranch on to the third and fourth generation of Lammers men.
Wayne went to school in Harper and never ventured far from home or stayed away for long.
He married Mary Louise Richey on May 26, 1955 in Vale. She preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 2017.
Together Wayne and Mary farmed several areas of Little Valley. They raised Red Angus cattle, beautiful roses, and three amazing kids.
Wayne had cattle for the income, he farmed because he loved it, but his passion was anything he could do in his truck. In his younger days he would start hauling sweet corn, then silage, spuds and hay. He looked like a haystack on wheels when he delivered hay to Juntura, Beaulah, Drewsey, and Crane. No matter the weather or the road conditions, if he got a call for hay delivery, he was on the way. He finished hay hauling just about the time to start spring farm work.
Wayne is survived by daughter Betty (Steve) Warden; son Don Lammers; daughter Lucia (Danny) Claborn; eight grandchildren, Shawna Warden, Kyle (Christina)Lammers, Jason (Jazzy)Lammers, Adam Lammers, Daniel (Megan) Claborn, McKenzie Claborn, Emily(Tyler) Mitchell, Katie Claborn; three great-grandchildren Kelli and Gage Lammers, Brantley Claborn, and Jackson Mitchell due in April 2018.
