Rodeo slated for Malheur County Fairgrounds

The Enterprise

ONTARIO — The Malheur County Fairgrounds will host a night of rodeo and dance this weekend, just days before the solar eclipse, for the appropriately named Grand Rodeo Under Sun and Moon.

For those willing to contend with out-of-state traffic brought by the eclipse, the Saturday rodeo promises bull riding, bull poker, kids horse stick racing, and plenty more to entertain crowds from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., all for $10. Kids get in free.

After the cowboys clear out of the arena at 9 p.m., the dance starts up, featuring two hours of music by Grupa Zafiro Musical, helping attendees sway and stomp until the fairgrounds close down at 11 p.m.

The Grand Rodeo is sponsored by Euvalcree, a non-profit Latino advocacy group based in Ontario.
