Sue ThomasSuzanne (Sue) C. Thomas, 81 of Vale, Oregon passed away Friday, March 11, 2016. She was born on January 21, 1935 in Oxnard, California to Thomas Russell and Evalyn Shott Carroll. She graduated from Santa Clara High School and went on to St. Mary’s College of Nursing in San Francisco graduating in 1954. She married Arthur (Art) Thomas on December 27, 1955 in Montecito, California. The couple lived in Oxnard, California where she worked for the El Rio School District. They moved to Vale in 1987 and she worked for the Ontario, Oregon School District and the Malheur County Public Health Department. She enjoyed watching golf and tennis, bar b queing and playin cards with family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Judy (Larry) Lewis of Kimberly, Idaho, 6 sons, Frank Thomas of Vale, Oregon, David (Julie) Thomas of Camarillo, California, Paul (Denise) Thomas of Oxnard, California, Jim (Mary) Thomas of Vale, Oregon, John Thomas of Vale, Oregon and Jed (Heidi) Thomas of Nampa, Idaho. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sisters Elsi Jean Griggs and Lee McGrath, and brother, Tom Carroll. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10 am with a Funeral following at the Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel in Ontario. Interment will follow at the Valley View Cemetery in Vale. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
