Sushi, more rolls into Vale

VALE – For hungry diners looking for something different in Vale, Ogawa’s Wicked Sushi, Burgers and Bowls started serving on Monday.

Simply known to most as Ogawa’s, the restaurant has been a staple in Ontario for years. The expansion to Vale comes by way of a food truck, a request owner Tyler Huston has heard for years.

The truck is located at 590 Washington St. W., the former location of Selco Credit Union.

“Every week, people would ask me when we were going to start something in Vale,” Huston said. “Vale needs something like this and the timing was right.”

Huston and his crew have used the truck for catering, but with the busy season coming to a close, the truck will be in Vale full time.

“We are purchasing a second truck in March so this one will stay here,” Huston said.

Working out of the truck, Huston will serve sushi, burgers and salads to walk up business.

Ogawa’s in Vale will be open Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“We are also planning on opening after high school sporting events or other big events in Vale,” Huston said. “It just kind of depends on how business goes. If the demand is there, we will extend our hours. We will also have daily specials.”

Opening day proved to be a hit as people lined up for something different for lunch.

Huston is urging people with large orders, such as offices, to call in early and pick up when ready. The number for the Vale location is 541-709-9035
