Thanksgiving meals available in Ontario, Vale and Nyssa

VALE – Nyssa, Ontario and Vale will have places Thanksgiving Day for those looking for a warm meal, friendly faces and a free holiday meal.

In Ontario, the First Christian Church will offer a Thanksgiving Day meal starting at 11 a.m. and running until 3 p.m. The church is located at 180 NW 1st Street. For those looking to give of time or dollars, the church will be accepting donations of food or cash along with volunteers looking to help. The Nyssa Community Thanksgiving Dinner will open doors at 12 p.m., handing out meals until 2:30 p.m. at the Nyssa Senior Center.

Turkey, ham, potatoes, green bean casserole and desserts are still being accepted along with volunteers to help set up, serve and clean up. Financial contributions are also being accepted with donation jars located throughout businesses in town.

In Vale, the community dinner will occur at the Starlite Café. The café, in partnership with the Seventh-day Adventist Church and local ministerial association, will have a full menu of turkey, ham, potatoes, salads and desserts. The meal will start at 12 p.m. with serving ending at 2 p.m. Volunteers are still needed along with food items. For more information, call 541-473-4263 or 541-823-2775.
